Please note that applications are reviewed by volunteer caseworkers and may take a few days to process. If you have not received any communication from one of our caseworkers within seven (7) days of applying for a CARE pet (make sure and check your junk mail folder) then please send us an email at care@careforanimals.org

Animals marked as “Adoption Pending” either have a home picked out or have so many applications that finding a suitable home with one of them is highly likely. We do this to manage expectations of potential adopters.

Adoption Fees

Our adoption fees are $300 for dogs and $150 for cats. We understand that these may be a deterrent for some people and if so, we encourage you to check out animals at your local shelter or humane society where these fees are often lower or waived entirely. CARE for Animals is purely donation based and does not receive any government funding. These fees often do not cover even the basic care provided for our adoptable animals. Charts below display the average cost CARE pays for core services for both dogs and cats. They do not take into account treatments for disease, emergencies, training, boarding (when fosters cannot be found), or any of the overhead costs associated with running our organization.

Looking for a Kitten?

The kittens we have listed above are either currently ready or almost ready to enter new homes. However, during kitten season we typically have several litters of younger kittens that are not yet able to leave their mothers or are awaiting vaccinations. You can fill out the general application below (for kittens only, not dogs or adult cats) and one of our kitten caseworkers will reach out to discuss which kittens might be the best fit for your home and set up a meet-and-greet.
