Blackjack II, 20-019's Bio

Blackjack is one of three dogs we’ve recently taken from the Malvern shelter. He looks like a German shepherd puppy, but he’s actually 2 years old. He’s very sweet and gets along great with other dogs.  Blackjack was pretty sick with kennel cough when we took him in, so he spent some time in the hospital. Everyone there said that he’s a very good boy. We’ll learn more about his personality as he goes through PIP.

Blackjack is receiving obedience training in the Paws in Prison program. His expected graduation date is May 3.  The dogs in this program are trained under the AKC Canine Good Citizen standards and are specifically selected to be family and companion dogs. They spend 24 hours a day with their trainers. For that reason, they will do best in homes where they are primarily inside dogs and spend lots of time with their families. The adoptive family will receive his training journal which documents his arrival at the unit, daily training progress, and interactions with his trainers.

Blackjack is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $250.

If you're interested in meeting Blackjack or learning more about the adoption process, please submit our online Adoption Application. Thank you!
