Chief II, 20-018's Bio

Chief belonged to a serviceman who was being deployed. He was picked up by animal control for running loose, though. The serviceman surrendered Chief since he was going overseas soon anyway.   Chief is really, really smart. He also gets really, really bored if he doesn’t have anything to do. He’s not so much high energy, but I do think he will need a lot of exercise and training to keep him focused. Right now, his focus is on other dogs. He’s on the dominant side, but it doesn’t necessarily seem aggressive. He easily could be though if he encountered another dominant dog. He was just neutered, so maybe some of that behavior will tone down with time.

Chief is receiving obedience training in the Paws in Prison program. His expected graduation date is April 24th.  The dogs in this program are trained under the AKC Canine Good Citizen standards and are specifically selected to be family and companion dogs. They spend 24 hours a day with their trainers. For that reason, they will do best in homes where they are primarily inside dogs and spend lots of time with their families. The adoptive family will receive his training journal which documents his arrival at the unit, daily training progress, and interactions with his trainers.

Chief is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $250.
