Abraham, 20-002's Bio

The folks at Sherwood Animal Control asked us to take a look at Abraham. I hate to be superficial, but when I saw his pictures, it was pretty much game over. He’s extraordinarily handsome!!! They were having trouble placing him because he DOES NOT like the shelter environment. He’s a big boy with a big bark and he would scare the bejeezus out of any potential adopter who approached his run. Out of his run, he’s a really sweet, almost needy pup who has a lot of energy. Before coming to CARE, Abraham enjoyed stretching his legs by loping around the SAC dog park then diving into a small trough of water and rooting around. It doesn’t matter the temperature; Abe LOVES water. Hopefully, he will gain some confidence in PIP. Right now he’s like the cowardly lion. He has the potential to be so much more if given the chance.

Abraham is in the Paws in Prison program where he receives obedience training. He is expected to graduate from Paws in Prison on March 3. The dogs in this program are trained under the AKC Canine Good Citizen standards and are specifically selected to be family and companion dogs. They spend 24 hours a day with their trainers. For that reason, they will do best in homes where they are primarily inside dogs and spend lots of time with their families. The adoptive family will receive training journal. This journal documents his arrival from the shelter, daily training progress, and interactions with his trainers.

Abraham is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $250.

If you're interested in meeting Abraham or learning more about the adoption process, please visit our website and submit an online Adoption Application. Thank you!
