Dillard's Bio

Dillard has some good news and some bad news. The good news is that he loves people and immediately bonds with people around him. He gets along well with dogs his own size or larger. He has a very resilient constitution and has a good disposition in spite of illness. He loves walks and is a good companion. The bad news is that he was very ill when he was picked up as a stray in Sardis and has kidney and heart disease from heartworms. He is on a doxycycline regimen for heartworms and will need Lasix and enalapril for his lifetime. He will likely not live to a normal dog's old age but he has such a good constitution, who knows? Dillard will do best as a single dog in the home; it is unknown whether resource guarding would be an issue. He does not do well with cats or small dogs. Dillard has been on long term staycation at Hounds Lounge where he has been socialized and pampered. He is a very good guy and a good citizen. Adopter will go through Help4Paws application. He has been evaluated by Help4Paws;they are a resource for further information as well as the phone and email above. Picture added later-he is black with white markings...very handsome.
