Beira, 18-094's Bio

Beira is a sweet girl in search of her forever home. About a year ago, she wandered out of a forest area onto a golf course and found a very nice man to take care of her. She was scared and thin, but quickly warmed to the man and they became good friends. Her caretaker now has to move and Beira cannot move with them so she is with us now. Beira is good on a leash and loads/ rides like a dream in a car. She knows her basic commands will even give you a crisp high five! Beira is house and crate trained, and in fact prefers to have a crate in the home that she can claim as her own space- where else would she hoard all of the toys? Beira loves children, and is fantastic with other dogs, and so far doesn’t seem to mind the kitties either. Beira does have asthma, and will need to be on a steroid every other day for the rest of her life. As a result, she occasionally coughs/sneezes and can spit up a little from this but she doesn’t let it slow her down and is as active as much as she loves her couch time too. Beira is in the Paws In Prison program where she receives obedience training. She is expected to graduate from the program on 9/8/18. The dogs in this program are trained under the AKC Canine Good Citizen standards and are specifically selected to be family and companion dogs. They spend 24 hours a day with their trainers. For that reason, they will do best in homes where they are primarily inside dogs and spend lots of time with their families. The adoptive family will receive Beira’s training journal. This journal documents her arrival from the shelter, daily training progress, and her interactions with her trainers. Beria’s adoption fee is $250If you are interested in meeting Beira or learning more about the adoption process, please visit our website and submit our online adoption application here: http://www.careforanimals.org/adoption-app.cfm
