Eli
Gender: Male
Age: 8 mo
Spay/Neuter: Neutered
Weight:
Breed: Lab/Heeler mix
Eli is an 8-month old brown-eyed, male Labrador-Heeler mix who needs a permanent home. He is smart, sweet-natured, very playful and loves people and car travel. He is healthy and current on all shots, heart-worm and flea medications, and has been neutered. Eli weighs about 45 lbs. He is crate and house-trained. Eli successfully graduated from Beginning Puppy training at PetSmart and can sit, lay down, stay, leave-it and is learning to go to his bed (with lots of treats). He also knows how to walk on a regular leash and a "Gentle Leader" leash. He has been socialized with other dogs and responds well to them. He plays frequently with a neighbor's cat when outdoors and seems okay, but they have not been inside together. Eli's hobbies are frisbee, playing with hard rubber toys (he's recently finished getting his second set of molars), catching cereal treats by mouth, playing ball, listening to music and hanging out with his people. He loves learning new things. He is very interested in birds and things that fly and occasionally points at them. It is a very tough decision for us to re-home Eli. We rescued Eli when he was between 8 - 10 weeks old. We are crazy about this little guy. However, we are a two-career family and feel that, to be really happy, he needs more time than we have. We feel he deserves less crate time than what we have to give him during the daytime and want him to have the best life possible. We also feel that Eli would be well-suited to an active family or to an active single person or a home with other dogs. He loves walks and outdoor activities and would probably make an excellent hiking, walking or running companion. Eli's adoption contribution is $100. To learn more, call Valerie at (501) 749-8172.
