Injured Love
Gender: Male
Age: Puppy
Spay/Neuter: Neutered
Weight: 20 lbs
Breed: Pit mix
We rescued this starving little guy with an injured rear paw about 10 days ago. We cannot keep him as we will be retiring in about a year and plan to do extensive traveling - not to mention a puppy will probably outlive us, or at least our ability to care for a pet. He needs a forever home, and he will be a grateful, loyal, adoring addition to your family. The vet said he is a mix - possibly pit bull and some small breed and his adult weight will be about 40 lbs. He weighed 19 lbs. when we found him, and he was within a day or two of dying of starvation. The vet said from the healing that had begun on his foot, it seems his people kept him for a few days after his injury, then tossed him. His foot continues to heal and he is expected to recover full weight bearing in time. In spite of the injury, he runs and plays like any puppy but sometimes holds his foot up. He is slowly gaining weight and obviously is much stronger and feels so much better. He is a very sweet little guy and really loves to be around people. He follows us everywhere. Now that he is healthier, we will get him back to the vet for any shots that he needs and we will pay for neutering if he isn't already neutered by the time he is adopted. He has been wormed. He gets along well with our 9 yr. old female and he seems to be used to playing with other puppies. We also have a cat, and he respects that the cat does not want to play. :-) Please open your heart and home to this little guy. He has had a tough time. The vet said the pain from that foot must have been really terrible at first, plus he was slowly starving to death. He will be forever grateful for your love and give you plenty in return!
